Library Link: Youth Programs & Resources
Summer Slide
Teachers, caregivers, and students have worked all school year to learn and gain skills. Summer break can lead to learning loss also know as the summer slide. Okanagan Regional Library wants to motivate kids and teens to keep reading and learning this summer. Here are some suggestions:
- Learning can be fun! Find a topic that interests them and dive in to explore.
- Celebrate all reading! Comics, recipes, magazines, audiobooks, non-fiction facts all ‘count’ as reading.
- Spend time outside. Discover and learn by spending time in nature.
- Check out the local library for free books, services, and activities for all ages. We are a community space that youth are invited to hangout in without spending money!
